01Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Pinnacle Academy (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, shares and protects information about you when you use our website, mobile app, live classes, recorded lectures, notes store, tests and related services (together, the “Services”).
By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
02Information we collect
We collect only what we need to run the Services well:
- Account details — name, email address, mobile number, password (stored only as a secure hash), and optional profile information such as city, target exam and a parent's contact number.
- Purchase information — items bought, order and invoice details, coupon usage and payment status. Card, UPI and bank details are entered on our payment partner's secure page and are never stored by us.
- Learning activity — lessons watched, playback progress, test attempts and answers, scores, live class attendance, chat messages, doubts and reviews you post.
- Device & usage data — device type, browser, IP address, approximate location derived from IP, login sessions and pages visited, used for security and to improve the Services.
- Communications — enquiries, callback requests and messages you send us through forms, email, phone or WhatsApp.
03How we use your information
- To create and manage your account and give you access to the courses, notes and tests you enrol in.
- To process payments, issue invoices and receipts, and handle refunds.
- To show your progress, test results, ranks and analytics, and to issue certificates.
- To send class reminders, results, announcements and important service updates by in-app notification, push or email.
- To answer your doubts, enquiries and support requests.
- To protect our content and your account — for example by enforcing device limits and detecting misuse.
- To understand how the Services are used and to improve teaching quality and features.
- To comply with legal, tax and accounting obligations.
04Content protection & watermarking
To protect our faculty's work from piracy, protected videos and PDFs may display a visible watermark containing your name and mobile number or email. We also limit the number of devices that can be logged in to one account at the same time, and record session information (device name, IP address, last activity) to enforce this.
You can review and sign out of your active devices from your profile at any time.
07Data retention
We keep your account and learning records for as long as your account is active, so your progress and purchase history remain available. Invoices and payment records are retained for the period required by tax and accounting laws. Enquiries that do not lead to an account are deleted when they are no longer needed.
08Security
We use industry-standard safeguards including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, signed session tokens, role-based access for staff and server-side permission checks. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so please use a strong password and never share your login with anyone.
09Your choices & rights
- Access and update your profile information from your dashboard.
- Request a copy of your personal data, or ask us to correct or delete it.
- Turn off push notifications from your device or browser settings at any time.
- Withdraw consent for promotional communication — service messages about your purchases will still be sent.
To make a request, email us at support@example.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on it. Deleting your account will remove access to purchased content.
10Students under 18
Many of our students are minors preparing for school and entrance exams. If you are under 18, please use the Services with the knowledge and consent of a parent or guardian, who may also be contacted about your progress and payments.
11Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you on the website or in the app. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it was last revised.
